About This Collection

The Chicana Writers Collection is curated with the intention to uplift documented experiences of women who relate to the Chicana identity. The Chicana identity intersects topics such as gender, nationality, culture, and politics. This collection spans from the years 1970 to 2023 highlighting historical events such as the Chicano Moratorium to self-published newspapers by community members. The material I digitized are newspapers, booklets, and magazines. This collection is intended to be accessible in person and online as a resource for a intersectional lens through documented sources of the Chicana perspective.
